Seth Bauer on How to Greenwash Better
Marketing & Sales — By Mark Wanczak on June 17, 2009 at 8:38 amIf you’re asking, “Greenwash better? But who wants to greenwash in the first place?” take a minute and read Seth’s post. Of course Seth doesn’t support outright greenwashing, and neither do I. But Seth successfully argues that, if almost everything can be considered greenwashing by some standard, then we might as well do a better a job of being more upfront about what goes into a product.
No product is perfect. No product messaging is perfect. But some manufacturers go through great lengths to ensure a product is as sustainable or safe as possible. As Seth points out, marketers should go through similar lengths to be as transparent as possible with their green product messaging.
