Konstructr has Google Wave invites. So here’s how we are distributing them to Konstructr readers.

Answer the following question: Based on what you know, or have read about Google Wave how would use the invite if you were given one? (Bonus points given to those that are able to tie their answer to the construction industry).

Post your answer in the comments! First eight folks to respond will be sent an invitation.

Looking forward to catching you below.

We are excited to use Google wave to communicate in a more effective fashion. We are preparing for the launch of London's newest art gallery and couldn't think of a more appropriate way to make our hectic lives easier at the moment. we are now following you on twitter and hope you will do the same!

  • Vik, you've been my beacon of all things new and exciting dealing with social media and the facility management profession. (And I'm being 100% honest--not just sucking up.) You were the first person to tell me about Facebook and Twitter, and now I can't fathom being at all relevant to this profession WITHOUT those resources. I can only imagine how Google Wave would help me communicate, Tweet, post, and reach out even further, especially to the new breed of folks looking to join our community. Naturally, my goal would be to share information specific to that world--something I have been doing with "old school" media for 20+ years now.

    Geez, I feel so old.

  • The most intriguing thing to me about Wave as it relates to construction is the ability to track back how a team gets to a certain idea. Understanding of the evolution of design concepts and being able to pull new team members into ongoing conversations could prove incredibly valuable.

The other use I could see for it is the specification process, for instance, on the Moosicorn project, which I think some readers are familiar with, I would love to talk with Scott on the phone while instantly bouncing things to him in a google wave session-photos, sketches, cut sheets...more conversational than email, more permanent and traceable than IMs.

    That's my take. Now...for that invite ;)

I would use Google Wave to link and access construction resources, applications, and news articles and link them with my customers, consultants and team members.

  • The ability to set up a quick, secure, collaborative environment is critical in the early phases of a project, before formal lines of communication are established. Before the proposals are sent out and before the contracts are signed, we'd use Google Wave to exchange ideas among multiple parties.

  • I would like to use Google Wave to access construction applications particularly for mechanical engineers who are collaborating on developing specifications.

  • I would use it as a replacement to Google Apps for my team and I. Specifically, brainstorming, document sharing, etc.
